A Glendale man who allegedly performed laser hair removal without a license at his clinic is scheduled to appear in court on Friday after a client accused him of sexual assault.
Antonio Nozar, also known as Ali Nozar, faces one misdemeanor count each of practicing medicine without a certificate and sexual battery.
The 48-year-old allegedly performed laser hair removal procedures using the name and license of another medical professional, Hooshang Tabibian.
Nozar used Tabibian credentials to make his business, Smooth Skin Laser Clinic, appear legitimate, according to the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s office.
Nozar allegedly sexually assaulted a female client during her treatment in August of last year, prosecutors said.
Tabibian, 77, was also named in the case. He faces one misdemeanor count of conspiring, aiding or abetting another to practice medicine without a certificate.
If convicted as charged, Nozar faces one year and six months in county jail and Tabibian faces one year in jail. Both men will also face a maximum $10,000 fine.
