A water line break appears to have caused mud to slide into the backyard of a Beverly Crest home Monday afternoon, according to the Los Angeles Fire Department.

The incident was reported about 1:45 p.m. in the 9000 block of West Burroughs Road, according to the fire department

Frefighters responded to the area divert the water. The Department of Water and Power eventually shut down the line, but officials told KTLA that the agency does not own the pipe that ruptured.

No structural damage or injuries were reported, but mud flowed into the backyard, creating a mess, aerial video showed. The mud also spilled into surrounding streets.

“I feel really bad for this guy,” neighbor Stacy Ivers said. “We’re still in the middle of the rainy season, and who knows what can happen for the rest of the winter.”

She added that the house is not currently occupied.
