Woman Airlifted After Violent Crash Involving SUV, Commercial Vehicle in Chino

A woman was hospitalized and a second driver was injured after a violent collision in Chino left one vehicle overturned on the side of a roadway on Sunday morning, fire officials said.

The crash occurred near the intersection of Chino Corona Road and Pine Avenue around 6:40 a.m., according to Massiel DeGuevara of the Chino Valley Fire District.

A female driver was trapped inside the black SUV and had to be extricated from the vehicle by firefighters, DeGuevara said.

She was then airlifted to an area hospital. Her condition was not immediately known, and authorities did not describe the extent of her injuries.

The driver of the commercial vehicle sustained minor injuries, but declined to be taken to the hospital.

No one else was inside either of the vehicles when the collision occurred, according to officials.

The cause of the crash was under investigation.
