A 20-year-old man was arrested Thursday for allegedly shooting and killing a 14-year-old girl at an Ontario home, possibly at the start of a house party, the previous night, according to Ontario Police Department officials.

The shooting occurred around 8:35 p.m. Wednesday in the 700 block of East I Street (map), a department news release stated.

Several people were at the home during the shooting and police believe the victim and the alleged shooter knew each other.

The mother of 14-year-old Andrea Olague identified her daughter as the shooting victim.

An unidentified 20-year-old man was arrested following the incident and the possible handgun used was recovered, the news release stated.

Prior to the arrest, on-scene officials said they were searching for two men and a woman seen leaving the home in a black vehicle.

It was unclear if officials were continuing to search for them.
