A worker who became pinned under a forklift at the Port of Los Angeles was killed Monday morning.

Firefighters received reports of a person trapped at Berth 270 shortly after 10:30 a.m., the Los Angeles Fire Department said.

“Upon arrival, firefighters found the trapped person to be deceased,” the Fire Department stated.

No details about what caused the worker to become trapped were provided.

Also, no information regarding the victim’s name, gender or age was immediately released.

Urban search and Rescue crews were on scene removing heavy machinery to allow other agencies, such as CalOSHA, law enforcement and the Medical Examiner to conduct their investigation.

No injuries to other workers or the public were reported.
