McDonald’s will extend its $5 value meal promotion beyond its initial four-week window in most U.S. markets after seeing increased customer traffic, the fast food giant says.
According to a memo reviewed by CNBC and Reuters, McDonald’s executives shared that 93% of its restaurants voted to extend the promotion past its original end date, which was slated for later this month.
Some locations will now run the promotion until the end of August, while others have yet to decide on an end date.
Since June 25, customers nationwide could have their choice of a McDouble or McChicken sandwich, small fries, 4-piece Chicken McNuggets, and a small soft drink – all for just $5 or $6.
With the $5 option, customers can get a McChicken sandwich, small fries, a 4-piece Chicken McNuggets and a small soft drink.
With the $6 option, customers can get a McDouble, small fries, a 4-piece Chicken McNuggets and a small soft drink.
The promotion comes as other fast-food chains continue to offer value meal deals in hopes of attracting more customers amid higher dining out costs.
