The British European Space Agency astronaut shot the time-lapse video of a lightning storm over Turkey as the ISS was traveling from North Africa toward Russia, he stated in his video post to Facebook.

Peake said the trip took about 10 to 12 minutes, but he speeded up the video to show the storm in 30 seconds.

“Amazing how much lightning can strike our planet in a short time,” Peake’s post read.
