Astronauts Scott Kelly and Tim Peake recently shared their unique view of the Northern Lights on social media.
The images were taken from the International Space Station and posted to both Kelly’s and Peake’s Facebook pages Wednesday .
“Aurora brought her fresh colors over Earth today. Stunning!” Kelly stated in his post.
The light display occurs when a burst of the sun’s gas and magnetic field causes a solar wind, which hits the earth’s atmosphere and creates the incredible sight.
Peake called their view of the Aurora “magical.”
