Texas Officer Credited With Saving 3-Year-Old’s Life in Dramatic Encounter Caught on Video

A Texas police officer is being credited with saving the life of a 3-year-old boy in a dramatic encounter that was captured on the patrol car’s dashboard camera.

The boy’s distraught father called 911 on Oct. 12 after the child became unresponsive.

“Yes ma’am my son … we’re at KFC and my son, he’s not breathing.”

In the background, the child’s mother can be heard sobbing, “Brayden, Brayden!”

The dispatcher sent EMS to the location, but Granbury police officer Chase Miller happened to be scanning the radio channels and realized he was just a minute away from the family.

The dashcam video shows Miller drive into the KFC parking lot and take the limp child, dressed in shorts and a yellow-and-gray T-shirt, from his mother.

Miller lays Brayden on the ground and begins CPR while the boy’s parents watch closely, tears streaming down the mother’s cheeks.

Then, a breath.

Brayden was rushed to a local hospital where he was treated and made a full recovery, according to the Star-Telegram.

Granbury Mayor Nin Hulett honored Officer Chase Miller with the Life Saving Award at a recent city council meeting, where Miller was reunited with Brayden and his parents.

According to a police department Facebook post after the meeting:

The boy’s favorite cartoon show on TV is Paw Patrol. And the boy’s favorite character on Paw Patrol is…… you guessed it, CHASE. So Officer Chase Miller presented the boy with his version of Chase to remember the moment by.
