Two dogs that were often seen cuddling up against each other while living at an Iowa animal shelter found a forever home together this month.

Before being adopted, CC could be seen “draped over” Chewbacca in their kennel, according to the Animal Rescue League of Iowa’s Facebook page.

“Pretty much every time we walk by their kennel, CC is either sitting on Chewy or draped over him or curled up against him,” Animal Rescue League of Iowa spokesperson Jessica Jorgenson told The Dodo, an online publication that focuses on animal issues.

“Chewy, for his part, doesn’t mind at all. They both like being close to each other.”

The dogs lived together for years, but were put up for adoption after a baby with allergies joined the family they lived with, The Dodo reported.

“Their bond is undeniable, so they must be adopted together,” an Oct. 4 Facebook post alerted shelter followers.

A woman commented on the post saying she had taken the pair on a “dog day out.” Heather Davis wrote that the dogs didn’t bark and they also enjoyed cuddling with humans.

The original photo was shared more than 1,000 times and apparently led to the pups’ adoption.

Shelter officials updated followers three days later that the “odd couple” had found a forever home and now live with two other dogs and three pet pigs.
