A mother and daughter recently shared a unique experience – giving birth less than three hours apart at the same Florida hospital in Fort Myers, according to local news stations.
Nine months ago, Heather Penticoff found out she was pregnant the same day her daughter, Destinee Martin, broke the news that she was with child, Florida TV station WPTV reported.
“This is something that you can’t plan,” Penticoff told the station. “This is something God sets into motion and you just roll with the punches.”
Martin, 20, wasn’t initially thrilled by her mother’s news, but later said the experience was “a lot nicer than if it wouldn’t have went that way,” the Association Press reported.
Both women had the same due date, and on Tuesday doctors induced labor for both women for medical reasons.
Penticoff gave birth to her daughter Madeline two hours and 45 minutes before Martin brought her son Damien into the world.
“To have my mom go through this with me is probably the most special, amazing thing ever,” Martin said after the birth.
