On Sunday, the Utah woman and her husband, Tyson Gardner, became the proud parents of four baby girls, according to an announcement on the couple’s Facebook page.

Esme Jane, Evangeline Faith, Indie Mae and Scarlett Elizabeth “are doing GREAT,” read a caption of a photo that showed their beaming father — clad in hospital scrubs — with Dr. Stephen Winton of Utah Valley Regional Medical Center.

Indie Mae, the smallest baby, weighed just under 2 pounds; the other children weighed more than 2 pounds, the post said, adding: “Mama is doing great and Dad is [overjoyed].”

A subsequent photo showed the new mother smiling while lying in a hospital bed. Its caption indicated she had given birth via cesarean section and that all fourth infants had dark hair.

After years of unsuccessfully trying to get pregnant, the couple’s first in-vitro attempt resulted in Ashley Gardner’s pregnancy.

She was unprepared, however, for the news that she was carrying four children.

A friend who was in the room snapped several photos when Ashley Gardner received her ultrasound results. Those images, which showed a visibly stunned mom-to-be, were widely shared on social media.
