The incident occurred Sunday during the inaugural IndyCar Grand Prix of Louisiana, the Associated Press reported.

Todd Phillips, a tire changer for Dale Coyne Racing, was hit by the car of Francesco Dracone as his vehicle spun out on a pit road, according to AP.

Video of the incident, which Phillips posted to his Facebook page, showed him flipping over after the vehicle’s back tire hit him in the leg at a high rate of speed.

Phillips needed to have six stitches for a cut on his leg, but was otherwise OK.

“I guess the cat is out of the bag,” he wrote on Facebook. “I can’t tell you how lucky I am to walk away with only 6 stitches!”
