Testing out Motorola’s “Shatterproof” Smartphone Screen

A new phone claims it has a screen that won’t break when you drop it.

The brand new Motorola Droid Turbo 2 has what you might call the “holy grail” of smartphone features: a screen that won’t shatter. Unlike some other rugged phones of the past, this one is totally normal looking. I dropped it many times and the phone screen survived like a champ. I can’t say the same for the body of the phone, but the screen is the most important part. It’s truly a game changer and something I hope to see on a bunch of phones in the future. So, how does it work? Motorola says it takes five layers of screen technology to make this screen “shatterproof.” BTW, the screen is shatterproof, not indestructible. I’ve seen folks online taking hammers and saws to the phone – and yes, those will certainly kill the screen. But I’m not interested in that – no one will do that to their phone. However, you might get up and accidentally drop your phone – rest assured, the Motorola Droid Turbo 2 will survive.
