The EcoCAR3 Competition challenges college students throughout the nation to reduce greenhouse gases by converting a standard fuel vehicle into a hybrid.
Students at California State University Los Angeles have been working on converting a Chevy Camaro into a hybrid vehicle for the past two years. Along with the conversion, students are working on integrating assisted driver technologies into the vehicle. Canadian based Varden Labs visited the campus to show off their self driving shuttle and help inspire the young engineers. The competition ends in 2018 and winners will receive a cash prize along with bragging rights and the potential to snag a really good job.
