Fans of Disney and Pixar’s “Turning Red” movie will be able to meet characters from the animated feature during the resort’s Lunar New Year festivities, theme park officials announced Thursday.

Meilin Lee and her mother, Ming Lee, will appear at Disney California Adventure Park during its Lunar New Year celebration, which runs from Jan. 23 to Feb. 18.

“They love observing Chinese traditions together, and as shown in the attached artist concept rendering, 13-year-old Meilin is so excited that she has begun to turn into her Red Panda form,” a news release said.

Guests will also see Meilin Lee in her red panda form during the new daytime parade, “Better Together: A Pixar Pals Celebration!” set to debut at DCA during Pixar Fest in April.

Disney’s Lunar New Year celebration will see the return of fan-favorite characters, entertainment, décor, merchandise and food, along with brand-new offerings this year.

New food and drink offerings, such as the BBQ Pork Bun with kimchi mayo and Almond Cold Brew, can be purchased throughout DCA at various pop-up booths and participating restaurants.

Items can be purchased individually or through the Sip and Savor Pass, which includes six coupons that can be used toward select food and non-alcoholic beverages at participating locations.

Lunar New Year festivities at DCA are a tribute to Chinese, Vietnamese and Korean traditions as people celebrate the Year of the Dragon.
