A new construction project is set to begin at the Disneyland Resort as theme park officials confirmed that the entry gates at Disneyland Park and Disney California Adventure will undergo makeovers.
A Disneyland Resort spokesperson told KTLA the work will begin later in the year.
The update will seemingly include additional gates, with some being gate strollers and ADA-accessible, according to Scott Gustin, a member of the digital team at Nexstar Media, the parent company of KTLA.
“The new gates are expected to be similar to the entry gates at Disneyland Paris and will be automated to open after a Cast Member scans and validates the guest’s theme park ticket,” Gustin posted on X, formally Twitter.
Currently, both theme park entrances have turnstiles.
To minimize the construction’s impact on guests, Disneyland will be completing the project in phases.
“We will take a phased approach to construction, working on one turnstile bank at a time to minimize impacts to arrivals,” a Disneyland spokesperson told KTLA in a statement.
News of the latest construction project comes amidst the revamp of Downtown Disney, the re-imagining of Splash Mountain, and the upcoming construction of the outdoor queue for the Haunted Mansion.
A completion date for the project has yet to be announced.
