A man was shot and killed after police said he stabbed a Santa Monica officer in an unprovoked attack Saturday night. The suspect was only identified only as a man in his early 30s.

Vice President Kamala Harris visited the union stronghold of Flint, Michigan, on Friday as she battles with Donald Trump for working-class voters who could tip the scales in this year’s election.

A serial arsonist accused of setting a string of destructive fires around downtown Los Angeles was arrested.

The suspect, Victor Marias, 31, was arrested Thursday after police reportedly spotted him setting a pile of trash on fire. Marias is believed to be responsible for at least four blazes in the downtown L.A. area dating back to July.

Mary Klein, a woman who was attacked and sexually assaulted along the Venice canals, has filed a claim with the city of Los Angeles asking for $5 million in damages for her suffering. Thieves ransacked a pair of homes on Thursday night in Brentwood, and both neighbors reported losing about $15,000 worth of items.
