The CEO of UnitedHealthcare was killed in a targeted shooting in New York City on Wednesday morning, police said. Brian Thompson, 50, was shot in the back and leg by a masked gunman just before 7 a.m. in front of a Hilton hotel on 54th Street between 6th and 7th Avenues, according to officials. He was rushed to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead. The suspect had been waiting for Thompson to arrive at the hotel for an investors meeting, police said. KTLA 5's Kareen Wynter reports. After a Southern California store was targeted by a shoplifter, the owner decided to feature the thief as the star of their latest clothing collection.
Surveillance cameras captured the male shoplifter entering Vardagen, located along Abbot Kinney Boulevard in Venice, in broad daylight. He quickly snatches a sweatshirt and another item from a display rack before walking away.
The shop’s owner, decided to use the crime to his advantage by creating a new clothing collection called "Wanted,” featuring a caricature of the suspect front and center.

Nathan Hochman was officially sworn in as the 44th Los Angeles County District Attorney on Tuesday in a ceremony held on the front steps of the Hall of Justice.
Hochman replaces former District Attorney George Gascón, who lost his reelection bid in a landslide in November.
