In August, officials at the Hemet Global Medical Center in Hemet announced they would be closing the obstetrics department due to low volume and a physician shortage. Nurses are protesting the move over concerns that pregnant patients, many of whom are from underserved communities, would have nowhere close by to seek medical care.

One homeowner received an unusual surprise when she noticed a goat had made its way onto the roof of her Laguna Beach home. The goat was part of a herd that was supposed to be clearing nearby fields and brush to help prevent wildfires. But it appears, at one point, the goat went rogues, broke away from its herd and enjoyed an adventure on its own.
