A new wildfire has ignited in the Eaton Canyon area near Altadena Tuesday night, forcing evacuations as a destructive windstorm continues battering Southern California. The Eaton Fire was first reported at around 6:30 p.m. and has grown to over 600 acres, according to officials at the Angeles National Forest.
Evacuations of surrounding areas are underway as crews from the Pasadena Fire Department, the Los Angeles County Fire Department and the U.S. Forest Service are responding to the blaze.

Officials issued mandatory evacuation orders for the Sylmar Fire – also referred to as the Hurst Fire – the third fire to erupt in Los Angeles County on Tuesday. The “Eaton Fire” was first reported at around 6:30 p.m. and has since grown to over 400 acres, according to officials at the Angeles National Forest.
Evacuations of surrounding areas are underway as fire crews from several departments are responding to the blaze.
