Trace amounts of snow blanketed Lone Peak (11,166 feet in elevation) at Big Sky Resort for the first snowfall of the season. This while the resort is still open for summer until October 2nd.
According to Sheila Champan of Big Sky Resorts, the Rut international 50k ultra-marathon is this weekend. More than 500 runners will race to the top of Lone Mountain from the village base. Fortunately for all participating in all capacities, the weather looks more favorable for the event.
By Sunday, high pressure returns, and the day time high will be in the mid to upper 60’s. Best wishes to all.
