An RV park in Ventura was flooded Thursday morning after the Ventura River rose 10 feet in three hours as heavy rain drenched the area, according to the National Weather Service.
The Ventura River remained just above flood stage at 10 a.m., sending water into nearby Ventura Beach RV Park near the 101 Freeway, the weather service tweeted. Photos showed several vehicles trapped in floodwaters, which inundated the area.
By then, water levels peaked and were beginning to drop. The weather service canceled its flood warning in the early afternoon after the river’s water levels at Foster Park went below flood stage.

The RV park was evacuated earlier amid expectations of minor flooding there from the rain-swollen river.
Approximately 50 campers were relocated to the Ventura state beach parking lot.
In addition to the campground evacuation, the area of West Main Street at Peking Street was temporarily shut down, according to the Ventura Police Department.
A number of evacuation orders are in effect in burn areas from Riverside County to Santa Barbara County as a significant storm brought rain to the region for a fourth consecutive day.
Several major roads were also closed as the wet weather triggered mudslides and debris flows.
Precipitation is expected to last through Thursday afternoon before tapering off in the evening, forecasters said.
