Carlos Saucedo

Carlos Saucedo covers the diverse communities within Southern California as a reporter for KTLA 5 News.

He joined the station in March of 2019 after spending the previous 10 years working at various news agencies across the state and country.

Prior to making his return to Los Angeles, Carlos reported for KGO-TV in San Francisco, where he covered some of the major stories in Northern California, including what became the state’s deadliest and most destructive wildfire.

Carlos also anchored the news and reported at stations in Sacramento and Fresno.

He started his broadcasting career as a reporter and bureau chief for KWTX in Waco, Texas. During that time, he covered stories from the largest U.S. military base in the world: Fort Hood.

Carlos is proud to have grown up in Montebello — where he attended and graduated from Montebello High School in 2003.

His higher education background includes rival schools UCLA and USC. While at UCLA, Carlos received his bachelor’s degree in political science and public affairs. Knowing he wanted to take his passion for service into journalism, Carlos attended USC’s Annenberg School of Communications, where he earned his master’s in broadcast journalism.

In his personal time, Carlos enjoys traveling and photography. He is a member of the National Association of Hispanic Journalists.
