Black History Month: Dr. Vinson Eugene Allen, founder of first black-owned Urgent Care chain

It’s Black History Month! Gayle Anderson learns about the achievements of Dr. Vinson Eugene Allen of Dusk to Dawn Urgent Care, the first African American owned Urgent Care chain in the United States.

Dusk to Dawn Urgent Care has operated in several underserved communities for more than 20 years. There are Dusk to Dawn Urgent Care facilities in Paramount, Lynnwood, Long Beach, and San Diego.

Dr. Allen’s work with the community earned him the keys to the city of Compton and the cover story of Ebony Magazine, honoring Dr. Allen for his excellence and naming him “Doctor of the Year.”
