The Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department celebrated the one-year anniversary of the Freddie Roach Youth Boxing Academy in East L.A. on Saturday. The facility serves as a place to "keep youth safe and physically active, promote sportsmanship, and, more importantly, promote positive relationships between law enforcement and the community." The program has since expanded to include a Jiu-Jitsu/Muay-Thai kickboxing program.

World dignitaries and Catholic faithful attended Pope Francis’ funeral in St. Peter’s Square on Saturday. Despite the presence of presidents and princes, prisoners and migrants met Francis' coffin outside St. Mary Major Basilica, where he was buried, reflecting his priorities as pope.

The funeral of Pope Francis took place Saturday in St. Peter’s Square in Vatican City, drawing around 200,000 people who bid farewell, according to the Vatican. The service started at 4 a.m. EDT Saturday, beginning with prayer and song. Francis’ body laid in state for three days at St. Peter’s Basilica since Wednesday.
